With the city entering Stage 3 re-openings and summer in full force, it's looking like some new content will be on the horizon. But for now, I dug back into my archive from 2018 to a trip myself and my family took to New Bedford to visit our extended family.

While the rest of my family started their 10+ hour drive, I flew into Boston’s Logan airport that same morning so I could spend a full day exploring downtown, just me and my camera. It was a gloomy day but it made for some great shadows in the narrow and winding streets of downtown Boston.

After that day in Boston, I spent the rest of my time in New Bedford where my family lives. While we were there, we spent time catching up with family on their farm and checking out different spots where they like to hang out in town. We even went to Civil War-era fort on the coast, Fort Rodman, to check out something different.

But it wasn't until we went into the historic district downtown where you saw the roots that makes New Bedford unique. All of the old architecture and cobblestone streets that take you back to a different time. Being a historically famous whaling town, you can see that pay homage to that past everywhere.

Overall, this was one of my favourite photo sets to date just for the experience that it was. From exploring a new city with my camera to spending time catching up with family, it was a trip I’ll never forget.
